Custom Made Platinum Engagement Ring

Danielle and Andrew approached me about creating a custom engagement ring but they didn't have any predefined conditions aside from the fact that whatever the design happened to be it would need to be sturdy enough to stand up to a very active lifestyle. I showed them some sample designs and it was determined that Danielle did not want to go with a halo setting. I had been working on this engagement ring around the same time and she spotted the technical drawing on my desk. There's just something about that scalloped milgrain edge that is just so pretty so naturally it caught her eye. The fact that the diamond accents were recessed and protected was a big plus for her. With the shank selected we needed to determine the head design. One of the in-store samples I showed her had the crossed prongs which really appealed to her so we married the two designs and voila! They opted to go with platinum instead of white gold for extra durability. For the same reason, I also made the prongs a little thicker which in no way distracts from the beauty of the ring due to the substantial proportions. The result is a beautiful engagement ring tailored to fit perfectly with my client's life style and aesthetic preferences.
